Senator Lieberman says we need them to--wait for it--protect us from terrorism. He even cites the speed with which the British government has captured suspects in the recent bombing attempts. Hey, Joe. Did it ever occur to you that the attacks in Great Britain are happening despite the massive surveillance? A suicide bomber doesn't care if cameras take his picture just before he blows himself up.
Is it any wonder that Republicans openly and strongly supported this otherwise run-of-the-mill left-liberal (and former Al Gore running mate)?
