The Nature of Political Parties

In regard to the Republicans' and the Democrats' assaults on liberty, Bill concludes "a pox on both their houses!" You only need one dose of "pox," as we effectively have a one-party system; what a friend of mine called "two wings of the same bird of prey." It's like living in a pentitentiary, and periodically getting to vote for the warden of our choice. One promises us better food and more exercise time; the other promises larger cells. But implicit in the entire voting arrangement is that we will remain prisoners: no referenda on secession permitted!

THIS is why the Democrats have been so silent on so many fundamental issues since at least 9/11: they don't want to do or say anything that might bring into disrepute the system they want to control in furtherance of their draconian plans. Only when people break out of their high-school-civics-class mindset that competing gangs of thugs will ever have an incentive to protect the lives, liberties, or property interests of individuals, will real change occur. Never forget the truth underlying every democracy: if voting could change the system, it wouldn't be legal!
