America's aid is very "cheap-skate"

Stephan Kinsella asks if it is time for Atlas to shrug because a U.N. official claimed that U.S. aid for tsunami victims - $15 million dollars - was being "cheap-skate." Well, I suppose it is.

Unfortunately, the aid from the USA always seems incredibly cheap. When Japan had massive earthquakes in Niigata, the US donated a mere $50,000 - This was after Japan had donated $350 million dollars, at the US government's request, for Afghan reconstruction.

I hear that America's aid for tsunami victims is anywhere between $15 - $35 million dollars. A donation that Americans can be proud of? No... Japan has donated $500 million dollars - dwarfing US aid amounts.
