Stephen, you are right to praise Ted Rall's non-interventionism. To me, Rall does sound like a liberal in this essay – a liberal in the sense that the Old Right was liberal. The New Right of Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter is indeed not liberal, in any sense.
I recently saw Ted Rall on the Hannity and Colmes show. Hannity was going on and on about how Rall was one of the most offensive, un-American degenerates ever to walk the earth, and how one of his comics was one of the worst things Hannity had ever seen.
If Hannity were as classic liberal – or as Old Right – as Rall, he would probably find Fox News to be much more offensive than an anti-war comic strip.
The best was seeing Rall talk about the war in plain terms, as based on lies and conducted by a horrid, bloodthirsty president for the benefit of special interests. Hannity had no idea how to deal with him.
