Not only voted for the PATRIOT Act, but as John Berlau reveals, supported expanding the police state and eliminating financial privacy in the name of the wars on terror and (non-state approved) drugs long before September 11th. Ironically, one of Kerry's main opponents on civil liberties issues during the Clinton years was none other than Senator John Ashcroft.
