According to the NY Times piece on William F. Buckley's retirement, he now thinks the invasion of Iraq was a mistake.
With the benefit of minute hindsight, Saddam Hussein wasn't the kind of extra-territorial menace that was assumed by the administration one year ago. If I knew then what I know now about what kind of situation we would be in, I would have opposed the war.
That's super, but why is it that he's a hero at NR, while those of us who were smart enough to realize that the war as the fraud that it was and is before we wasted billions of dollars and thousands of lives labeled "unpatriotic conservatives" who have "turned their back on their country."?
