Writes Elizabeth Wright:
Following up on Tom DiLorenzo's comments, an example of one black who is not "buying the lies fed to them by the NAACP and the SPLC" is one Erenestine Harrison who, last year, set out on a one-woman petition crusade to change the names of two schools in Hampton, Virginia. The schools are named for Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis. But in the course of her campaign she came into contact with southern heritage advocates, took the time to listen and to look more closely at the issue, and changed her mind. Here's some info on the story.
I was on a heritage list at the time, and got to read some of the letters that were sent to her and her responses. The story was also covered in the media.
I think the most interesting aspect of this story is what she said in a response about her suspicions of Julian Bond's interest in her petition drive and her distaste for the Southern Law and Poverty Center's classifications of "hate groups."
