The LRC Blog has brought to you, commercial-free, fine examples of "the new conservatism" in regards to foreign policy, social democracy, etc. But how about that fringe element known as the Meninists? You see, they don't believe they should want to work anymore. It seems they think reporting to the boss on time gives 'em heart attacks. They want to stay home, change diapers, and watch Oprah. Being conservative used to equal being traditionalist, and believing that perhaps traditional roles - voluntarily undertaken - and that "nasty word" known as patriarchy weren't such bad things after all, since they have held Western civilization together for oodles of years. Well, perhaps, in like fashion with the fringe Meninists, ladies should turn to oriental men then. They apparently don't whine.
But ahh, lest we forget how "easy" it is to stay home and take care of a family home and it's child inhabitants. Oh yeppers, Frigidaire and Whirlpool do it all for ya. Oh, and this is funny, but the whiners are clueless to the evolutionary-biological reasons as to why women live longer then men. Unfair advantage!, they say. It must be because we work too hard!, they say.
It was 1929 before the first woman could graduate from Columbia Law School, and oopsy, as to law schools, Harvard didn't admit women until 1950, and the University of Notre Dame? Not until 1967. And as for blacks, well, we know those statistics. You can find those on the web, too. But out of the need for genuine, voluntary change came the marxist-collectivist-All Hail the State Feminist movement, including those bloated, left-superheroes such as Dykes on Bikes and NOW. In like fashion, and following the same ideology, comes the Collectivist, Meninist "40-something-and-still-single-and-it's-all-the-fault-of-women" Whining Club. But in the end, they are also agreeing entirely with the militant feminists as to how things should be. They even believe that, nah, it's not necessarily a good thing for mothers to be home with their children, or to make "home-cooked meals." That stuff just kills a second income from coming in, ya know? Kids are only human beings; don't fret. Heck, the family can all eat cereal every night.
It was only a matter of time before this new class of victimology was to arise. Victimology breeds like rabbits. I honestly couldn't believe that anyone would think this, let alone write it, and then share it with the world. As a male libertarian friend remarked, "Karen, normal men just don't think like this." By the time these militant meninists are done, they are going to make the militant feminists smell like PBS's Victory Garden. I'm getting a whiff already, or is that because I haven't yet cleaned up the doggie........from the backyard?
