Maureen Dowd, whose pen often drips with poison, managed to do a real job on Dick Cheney in today's New York Times. And, unlike some of her columns about other topics, Cheney deserved every dart that Ms. Dowd threw at him. Quoting a Newsweek magazine report on Cheney, those who know him claim that Cheney has a Hobbesian view of the world.
I guess most of us figured that out after Master Dick's tenure as "Minister of Death" in the Gulf War of Bush I's administration.
Too bad the current president Bush doesn't read much. If he did read, and if he isn't as evil as Cheney, he'd dump this modern day Machiavelli.
But as long as he claims he doesn't read much, we can't be sure whether or not he is just too dumb to figure out how he has been manipulated by the neocon Axis of Deceit, whether he is just as evil as his neocon advisers, or whether he is a bit of both.
